Something to do, in the Holy Spirit
“We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.” -Albert Schweitzer
- The Holy Spirit is in us to help us to be encouragers and healers.
A. I Corinthian 1:4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
B. Take action in the Holy Spirit for someone else, do it now. - Discover the Spiritual Person you have become
A. 1 Corinthians 2:14, NIV: “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.”
B. What we focus on we get, so focus on the indwelling Spirit. - Each Believer has received the Holy Spirit
A. Ephesians 1:13,14 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
B. A deposit has been made in you. It is the Holy Spirit.
Conclusion: Though the Holy Spirit, we can say something of faith, hope and love that raises the kindles a fire in the spirit of those we speak to. Experiment with it more and more. Try it, you’ll like it.

The Cave of Opportunity
I Samuel 24
This chapter tells the story of David’s decision to spare King Sauls life. Saul was pursuing David to kill him. David had the opportunity to kill Saul but didn’t.
- In the Day of Adversity Consider
A. Ecclesiastes 7:14 KJV
“In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.”
B. We need to be thinking in the cave - The Story of David and Saul Foreshadows What Christ Would Teach
A. Matthew 5:44 GNT
44 But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
B. Words from heaven are difficult to embrace sometimes, but:
Psalm 119:89 GNT
89 Your word, O Lord, will last forever;
it is eternal in heaven. - Opportunity in Our Caves
A. Will we forever be governed by our own passions? Our own sense of justice?
B. Proverbs 14:12, which says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” KJV
Conclusion: David’s men counseled him to kill Saul when he came into the cave. David knew not to touch the Lords anointed nor do His prophets harm. High road or low road, this or that….obey God or obey men? Lots of choices in the caves of our lives. Caves are our opportunities to move to the uplands of God, many will not go because they fear the climb.

Matthew 24:6-8 (GNT) 6 You are going to hear the noise of battles close by and the news of battles far away; but do not be troubled. Such things must happen, but they do not mean that the end has come. 7 Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another. There will be famines and earthquakes everywhere. 8 All these things are like the first pains of childbirth.
I.
It was about 2000 years from Adam to the Flood
It was about 2000 years from the Flood until the time of Christ.
It’s been about 2000 years from the time of Christ until now.
That’s 6000 years of human history.
The Revelation Chapter 20 prophesies a 1000 year Millennium then the Golden City comes to earth.
For generations believers have looked to the eastern skies for the Lords return between the 6000 years and the coming 1000 years.
II.
Other prophesies said: Israel would be in their own land. There would be wars and rumors of wars. There would be plagues and famine. A world leader would arise in the European theatre who offers to solve the middle eastern problems. A system would be devised to prevent anyone from buying or selling unless they participated in a marking on the wrist and forehead. It’s all equally documented in scripture.
III.
But only God knows!
Matthew 24:36-45 GNT
“No one knows, however, when that day and hour will come—neither the angels in heaven nor the Son; the Father alone knows. The coming of the Son of Man will be like what happened in the time of Noah. In the days before the flood people ate and drank, men and women married, up to the very day Noah went into the boat; yet they did not realize what was happening until the flood came and swept them all away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes.
Conclusion:
Always Time to be Ready!
We don’t control it one way or the other.
It will be sudden.
Get ready! Get Ready! Get Ready!

“We Should Declare“
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
God Declares to Us
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Paul Declares to the Church
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

The 10 Commandments
The United States of America
The Federal Supreme Court as well as many State Supreme courts have ruled that it is unconstitutional to display the 10 Commandments on government properties.
Many nations and their Legal System have had the 10 Commandments as the basis of their system of law, for centuries.
But since “Thou Shalt Not Steal” is no longer revered, nor is the fear of God….governments stand back unable to act as looters, burn businesses and run off with products owned by others. It is theft.
Mothers and Fathers have no value to train their child in. Teachers have no value to assign to society being based on laws.
“Thou Shalt not Lie” ….but television commentators try to tell us its a better world without all of the repressive religious language. It all depends on what your definition of is, is, one lying President said under oath.
Common sense tells us the looters are wrong to steal and lie:
Ecclesiastes 11:3
Their stupidity will be evident even to strangers they meet along the way; they let everyone know that they are fools.
“Remember the Sabbath, to keep it Holy”
They even looted and rioted this last Sunday and attempted to burn down the Historical Church of the Presidents.
We need to look again at the moral laws etched in stone by the finger of God.
42 Million are unemployed due to Covid-19. They may be two or three months behind on rent or mortgage. They may be hungry. Is their best option to loot and steal, riot and burn? No. They could honor God, He would provide, and they could have peace with their neighbor.
The breaking of the 10 Commandments, the Moral Law, Gods Law, has always been and remains wrong. To thumb your nose at God is wrong brother…it’s wrong.
Who are we, inside?
If We don’t give in to despair.
Then we can keep the moral law.

Start Your Week
A Self Pep Talk
Today, I will celebrate the amount of effort I have put in instead of focusing on the outcome. Every expert started out as a beginner, and that doesn’t exclude me! With effort, resilience and patience I will be able to accomplish anything I set my mind to. I will banish all discouragement and negative thoughts from my mind. There is no gain without a little pain! Practice is how you learn and I will continue to practice no matter how frustrated I may feel. I can do it because I believe in myself.
Ecclesiastes 3:9-13
9 What do we gain from all our work? 10 I know the heavy burdens that God has laid on us. 11 He has set the right time for everything. He has given us a desire to know the future, but never gives us the satisfaction of fully understanding what he does. 12 So I realized that all we can do is be happy and do the best we can while we are still alive. 13 All of us should eat and drink and enjoy what we have worked for. It is God’s gift.
Psalm 118:24 GNT
24 This is the day of the Lord’s victory;
let us be happy, let us celebrate!
