Loving you with the love that Christ gives!

Psalm 91
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
- Your shade tree
I will say of the LORD
Are we speaking faith and trust?
- What you say?
I will say of the LORD
Are we speaking faith and trust?
- Who is your salvation?
Surely he will save you
Know this, the focus of God is our deliverance
* He will cover you… you will find refuge
In the center of the village where I was raised in the Waimea valley was a cluster of large old mango trees and Cream Apple trees. Under them we’re some wooden picnic tables. It was a gathering place to sit and talk. This outdoor space was called The Mango Tree Inn. The elderly, young family parents, teens and children always felt safe to go there. We would “talk story” and comfort and wisdom was abundant and free. It was a shaded covering, a refuge for any who wanted it.

After this life on earth, unbelievers will stand before the judgment of God and then sent to Hell where their eternal torment will be shared with the Devil and the Fallen Angels (Mark 9:43-48; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8)
- A Place to Avoid
Mark 9:43-48 NIV
If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, where “ ‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
*Our faith is our strenuous resistance to going there.
- Says it All
Hebrews 9:27
27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
*Grace allows us to be prepared for death and judgment.
- Tormented
Revelation 14:9-11
9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, 10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”
*Thou shalt have no other Gods before me. God wants our love with fidelity.
Dualism is idolatry. You cannot serve God and mammon. He wants us to choose him and not be divided between our love for Him and our love for the world.
- Is our name written?
Revelation 20:12-15
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Stop and Wait On the Spirit of God
Ephesians 3.16: “… that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being.”
We can get in the way of the Spirits work inside, here’s some tips to avoid this:
- Everyone is in this, You Are Not Alone
Say no to self pity, Ask the Spirit to help you to do this.
- Develop Healthy Patterns, Speak ideas about hope.
Know the Spirit has your future.
- Say no to Dwelling on Grief.
Grief is the acute pain that accompanies loss.
Tough personal work to shut it out.
The Spirit can help us to mount up
- Remember to Laugh Often
Fall in love with Joy
Now the fruit of the Spirit is joy
- Understand Good vs. Bad Anxiety
Always have peace as your end
The Spirit’s peace passes understanding
Isaiah 40:31 But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

The Fall of Man
The fall of man, is a term used in Christianity to describe the decline of the first man and woman from their state of innocence before God to their state of guilt and disobedience. Romans chapter 5 teaches all mankind are fallen and are sinners. It is not given a name in the Bible, yet the doctrine of the fall comes from Genesis chapter 3. Though we are depraved we can be helped to God through His Grace.

The Salvation of Man
Humanities only hope of redemption from the fallen sinful state is through the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son.
Humanity needs deliverance from the falls spiritual death and the enslavement of sin.
Humanity needs the provision of God.
Salvation for all who believe and accept His free offer of forgiveness.

What to do to be saved
We repent before God for our sins and sinful nature. Then we. believe or have faith in the fact that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ removes and brings forgiveness for our sin. After placing faith in God’s love and freely given salvation, we experience the washing of regeneration (or spiritual rebirth) Scripture declares this (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7)

Titus 3:5–7 (NIV)
5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
There are many witnesses. It is pure and wondrous joy to realize that the results of the fall are reversed by the results of Gods grace. Be forgiven, be born again, be saved.
Loving you always with love that Christ gives.

Midweek Devotion from pastor Mike
The heart knoweth its own sorrow and there are times when, like David, it is comforting to think that our tears are put in a bottle and not one of them forgotten by the one who leads us in paths of sorrow.
From Hannah Hunards “Hinds Feed on High Place”
O Shepherd. You said you would make my feet like hinds’ feet and set me upon High Places”.
“Well”, he answered “the only way to develop hinds’ feet is to go by the paths which the hinds use
Psalm 56:8 (New Living Translation)
8 You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.
God Cares for us
1 Peter 5:6-7, (NKJV)
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
God Feels with us
Hebrews 4:15 World English Bible (WEB)
15 For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
Don’t give up on the One who will not give up on you.
