Heaven, lets go there!
Phillipians 3:20-22
20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
I. Heaven is a prepared place
John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
II. Heaven is a place of unprecedented riches
I Corinthians 2:9
9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” Are the things God has prepared for those who love him—
III. Not Everyone gets to go to Heaven
Revelation 22:15
15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Conclusion:
Ecclesiastes 12:13
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The Courage to Go to War
Marching As To War Onward Christian Soldiers
It’s Memorial Day
Think of the will, the courage so many summoned to give their all in defense of that which they believed in.
The songwriter said “Your going to serve somebody, it may be the devil. It may be the Lord, but your going to serve somebody.”
It’s This or That!
Whose am I is the greatest question of life.
It doesn’t take much to serve one, but it takes it all to serve who you believe in.
It’s called….faith.

1 Peter 4:12-14 (GNT)
Suffering as a Christian
12 My dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful test you are suffering, as though something unusual were happening to you. 13 Rather be glad that you are sharing Christ’s sufferings, so that you may be full of joy when his glory is revealed. 14 Happy are you if you are insulted because you are Christ’s followers; this means that the glorious Spirit, the Spirit of God, is resting on you.

Faith as a Fighting Spirit
I. Some times you have to over come yourself.
A. Training for a marathon run is what the the faith journey is really about.
B. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.“
II. Sometimes you have to overcome others.
A. Beware those who singularly want to steer you toward, secularism, to natuaralism, to the world.
B. Matthew 19:29
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
III. Sometimes you have to fight evil.
A. Darkness will move in on you. Beware and sensing, discern the spirit behind things.
B. James 4:7
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Conclusion: Most of us have an inner meta program that seeks to avoid a conflict. Sometimes we need to fight for right to win in us. Sometimes we need to prevent others from dominating our pursuit of what is right. Sometimes we need to accept our identity in Christ and fight the spiritual battles that are sure to arise.

Drama Kings and Queens In Suffering…..hmmm
2 Corinthians 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Radical affirmation has become the order of the day. Everybody gets a trophy, an award, recognition for participating in anything.
Exceptional behavior gets lost in this one size fits all mentality.
I. Jesus is the example of meaning through suffering.
He learned:
Hebrews 5:8: “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.
II. It’s always in the plan of God for us to be more like Jesus through suffering
We learn:
When afflictions come, we may question the truth of Romans 8:28: “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
We cry out, “How can this affliction be working good for me?” But we need to read the next verse to discover what God decrees as our good: “to be conformed to the image of his Son” (Rom. 8:29).
III. There are many benefits of submitting to God’s sanctifying trials with meekness. One of which is learning how to comfort others through what we have learned.
Conclusion: Let us be careful to avoid complaining in hard times. There is something to learn, becoming like Jesus is in process, and benefiting others is the end game.
Remember: Affliction is often the Training Camp of Holiness, God is Leading to Higher Ground

Faith and Wisdom
2 My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, 3 for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure
Some who are touched by adversity, will fall down and they may never get back up, whereas other’s go through adversity and discover their true self.

Up, up avenger, you need the rays of the Son. The Christian should be greeting each coming moment, with their eyes wide open and the anticipation that God will help them through the difficult ones.

Happy Mother’s Day. Sunday May 10th 2020
Happy Mother’s Day

Mothers Day thoughts from Pastor Mike
I often refer to Original Intent. By this I mean the earliest reflection of Gods mind about a subject matter. When we see God address early Israel, he gives them this directive.
Leviticus 19:3
3 Each of you must respect your mother and your father, and must keep the Sabbath, as I have commanded. I am the Lord your God.
Abraham Lincoln said, “All that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother”.
I can surely discern that he respected his mother. He is a good example of the original intent of God regarding mothers.
Today I am happy to have a friend and sister share with you. She is a mother. She often speaks to more children than her own. She is a retired school teacher and our Child Chat Minister. Please listen to Beverly Patalas. “Give God your Full Plate”

Sunday May 3rd 2020
Good Morning.
Today we celebrate Communion. Feel free to get some juice and bread and participate with us.
Think of the gospel, the good news, Christ has died, Christ is Risen, Christ will come again.
2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

If My People Will Pray
If my people, which are called by my name
Shall humble themselves,
Shall humble themselves and pray.
If my people, which are called by my name
Shall seek my face and turn from their wicked ways.
Then will I hear from heaven,
Then will I hear from heaven,
Then will I hear and will forgive,
Forgive their sins.
If my people, which are called by my name,
Shall humble themselves,
Shall humble themselves and pray.
I will forgive their sins,
I will forgive their sins,
I will forgive their sins
And heal their land.
If my people, which are called by my name,
Shall humble themselves,
Shall humble themselves,
Shall humble themselves,
And pray.
